To provide leadership, supervision and set examples for the LAMS basketball program. Stay knowledgeable of NMAA, District, and Los Alamos rules and regulations. Attend clinics whenever possible to learn new ideas and to stay informed.  Inventory and maintain equipment. Explain what is expected for Boys Basketball athletes on and off the court. Work in conjunction with the high school coaches. Make sure every athlete has a physical on file. Turn in all paperwork in a timely manner. Apply discipline in a firm, fair and positive manner. Make sure athletes conduct themselves in a proper manner on and off the court. Make sure team treats opponents with respect.  Keep the Athletic Director informed at all times about the program. Be able to work in cooperation with all the coaching staff; and parents.

Must be able to demonstrate the sport or activity, including lifting all equipment as required by the activity. This is to include tournaments and practices. The employee must have the physical stamina to be able to handle the hours and physical stress of the sport during contests and practices. The employee should be able to use the machines, tools, equipment, and work aids which may be representative of those commonly associated with this type of work.
