Current Hourly Rates:

• Individuals with an active teaching license $30.00 hour
• Individuals with an active substitute teaching license $23.00 hour

No NMPSIA Insurance Benefits, No NMERB Retirement Benefits, No PTO Accruals included in this position.

This is a non-contract position, No representation from the Union. 

In lieu of the classroom teacher, the substitute teacher directs program of study, creates classroom environment conducive to learning, guides learning process toward curriculum goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons/units/projects and communicates these to students, supports rules of classroom behavior and procedures, maintains classroom order, attends staff meetings (if applicable), maintains accurate/complete/correct records as required.

Individuals applying to substitute will be required to complete six hours total of observations at the elementary school, middle school and high school as well as a paid Substitute orientation session.
